AFFILIATE CHARITY PARTNERS

A conduit for OTHER CAUSES.

HOW IT WORKS

We serve as a conduit for the MOREĀ® community to establish non-profit status for their own charitable efforts. Here are a couple of affiliates we are currently working with. If you would like to make a donation, please select the donate button below each charity. You will be sent to a form to fill out. Be sure to choose the PURPOSE to select the charity of your choice.

Grant Knighton Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Grant Knighton Memorial Scholarship Fund is the inspiration for the MORE Gives Foundation. This foundation gives the ability to help those in the MORE community to be able to receive support in their time of need.

Grant Knighton, son of MORE Gives founder Paul Knighton, made friends wherever he went. His exuberant personality was inviting and he had a special way of making people feel cared about. From his big smile to his funny quirks, his countenance shone brightly to all around him. The room quite literally lit up when he walked in. He was deeply loved by many and he leveraged his popularity to protect people, even if they were strangers.

Grant dreamed of becoming a lawyer. He was Incredibly patriotic and fiercely protective of those who were disadvantaged. Grant always offered to lend a helpful hand. In fact, he was preparing to serve a 2 year service mission when he tragically passed away in a car accident. MORE Gives is our way of remembering and honoring Grant, and giving back the way that he always did.

We wanted to offer our MORE family opportunities to have funds available should they have a tragic event or an urgent need.

100 PEOPLE X

Remember when I had a lemon sized brain tumor removed from my skull a few years ago?
This event almost killed me and changed my life forever. It taught me that every day you wake up on the green side of the grass is a great day. It taught me that there are amazingly generous people out there who want to make the world a better place.

I promised myself that some day I would pay it forward and this is how I'm doing it. Will you join me to raise $10,000 for charity this month? All it takes is an hour of your time and $100 to make a huge difference in our community. The X in 100 People X stands for exponential giving. I believe that as we grow this Giving Circle the idea will take hold and we can do it in multiple locations across Portland.

We're giving away $10,000 to charity in a single evening!

We are asking for 100 People to be willing to donate $100 to a worthy local charity and then take those payments and distribute them in an 80/10/10 fashion to the three charities that we are working with.

It is our intention to swipe a card as our each of our members enters the event, that way we have collected their donation before the event begins. Since we are not a 501c3 charity ourselves, by operating through MOREĀ® Gives Foundation, we can offer people a tax deduction for their donation.

Trevor Peterson Memorial Scholarship Foundation

The Trevor Peterson Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has a disability in the Hillsboro School District who has shown exceptional strength and courage in living with their challenges. It is a remembrance of a young man who showed great love, patience, and tolerance for everyone around him. He was quick to smile and although non-verbal, always eager for a "chat". The scholarship provides further educational opportunities from college to life skills training and recreational activities like swimming lessons, therapeutic horseback riding and art classes.

The Trevor Peterson Memorial Scholarship for Siblings is awarded annually to the brother or sister of a child with a disability in the Hillsboro School District who has shown outstanding support of their sibling, family, and community. These kids often put themselves last while helping their siblings and families get through each day. Past recipients have changed school rules to provide greater inclusion of kids with special needs, tutored their special needs siblings and friends, volunteered at Providence Child Center for Medically Fragile Children and so much more! Trevor had a great brother and sister who supported him and this scholarship celebrates the many other great siblings out there!
